Privacy Policy
This policy explains what MyAbhyas collects, why, who else sees it, and how to have it removed. MyAbhyas is operated by TechMate Web Solutions, #102, Narjis Gulshan, Hari Bowli, Hyderabad – 500065, Telangana, India. Most of our users are school students, so we have tried to keep this readable rather than exhaustive.
1. What we collect
When you create an account we ask for:
- Your name — so the site can address you, and so it can be printed on the papers you generate;
- Email address — your login, and how we reach you about your account;
- Mobile number — for account recovery and support;
- City and school name — so we know which boards and which kinds of school the product is reaching;
- The board year you are preparing for — this sets when your subscription ends and which syllabus you are served;
- A password, which we store only as a one-way hash. We never see it and we cannot recover it for you.
As you use the site we also record:
- the papers you generate, the answers you enter and the marks you award yourself — this is what your reports are made of;
- support tickets you raise, and any screenshot you attach to one;
- ordinary technical records such as the time you signed in.
2. What we do not collect
We never see your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay; what comes back to us is that a payment succeeded, its amount and which subscription it paid for.
We do not ask for your address, your date of birth, your parents' income, your marks in school, or anything else we do not need to run the service.
3. Why we hold it
To run your account and show you your own progress; to take payment and honour the subscription you bought; to answer your support tickets; and to understand, in the aggregate, which chapters students find hard, so the question bank can be improved. That last use looks at patterns across many students, never at a named individual.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not run advertising on this site at all.
4. Who else sees it
Only the services we need to operate:
- Razorpay — to take payments. Their privacy policy governs what they hold.
- Our hosting provider — the servers the site and its database run on.
- Email delivery — for account and support email.
Our own staff can see your account when answering a support ticket you have raised. We will disclose information to a public authority only where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Your account and your practice history are kept while your account exists, because they are your record of your own work. Screenshots attached to support tickets are deleted automatically after 30 days — a ticket rarely needs its picture once it is resolved, and holding on to images of somebody's screen for longer than that serves nobody.
6. Deleting your account
Write to support@myabhyas.in from the email address on the account, or ask us from a support ticket inside it, and we will delete the account and the practice history attached to it. We will keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as the record of a payment.
You may also ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or to correct anything that is wrong, at the same address.
7. Students under 18
MyAbhyas is for Class X students, most of whom are minors. An account is opened by a parent or guardian, or with their consent, as set out in our Terms. A parent or guardian may write to us at any time to see what the account holds, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we will act on that without asking the student.
8. Cookies
We set three small cookies. None of them carries your name, your email or anything else that identifies you, none is shared with anyone else, and none follows you to other websites. There is no advertising cookie and no third-party tracking cookie on this site.
- Keeping you signed in. Set when you sign in, cleared when you sign out or after eight hours. Without it you would have to type your password on every page.
- The plan you were looking at. If you arrive from a link to a particular plan, this remembers which one so the right page is shown after you create your account. It holds one word and lasts thirty days.
- Who told you about us. If a friend or a partner sent you here with their invitation link, this remembers their code so their reward is credited correctly when you sign up. It holds that code and nothing else, and lasts thirty days.
You can delete these at any time in your browser settings. Deleting the first will sign you out; deleting the others costs you nothing.
9. Counting visits
We count how many people visit the site each day, which page they arrived on, and which website sent them, so we know whether anything we do to tell people about MyAbhyas is working. This does not use a cookie.
So that reloading a page is not counted as a new person, we work out a short code from the visitor's network address and browser, mixed with a secret value that we change every day. We keep only that code. We do not store the network address or the browser details, and because the secret changes daily, the same visitor produces a completely different code tomorrow. That means we cannot follow anyone from one day to the next, build a profile, or work out that two visits were the same person — and neither can anybody who obtained our records.
Nothing is counted while you are signed in, and nothing on this page is connected to your account.
10. Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Access to the database is limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email.
